WHY AWS

Purpose-built services for data, analytics and AI

WS provides specialist services for very different data workloads. Redshift supports governed analytics and reporting at scale, Aurora provides relational database performance with cloud-native reliability, while DynamoDB handles high-throughput, low-latency application workloads without teams managing database infrastructure.

OpenSearch adds real-time search, log analytics and observability, while services such as Glue, EMR and Kinesis provide the engineering layer for moving, processing and streaming data across the environment.

AWS also extends that foundation into AI. Bedrock provides managed access to foundation models on governed enterprise data, while SageMaker supports custom machine learning and MLOps. Combined with QuickSight and tighter AWS service integrations, the platform supports reporting, automation and AI without forcing every workload into the same technology.

WHAT WE DELIVER

AWS expertise for real business outcomes

Our AWS capability spans databases, engineering, analytics, AI and ongoing operations, helping you use the right AWS service for each workload.

Data warehousing & analytics

Build governed reporting environments on Redshift, right-sized for your workloads and designed to scale with demand while keeping performance and cost under control.

Relational databases

Run MySQL- or PostgreSQL-compatible workloads on Aurora, combining familiar database engines with managed availability, performance and cloud-scale reliability.

NoSQL & high-scale data

Build low-latency, high-throughput services on DynamoDB, with managed scaling that removes the operational overhead of running NoSQL infrastructure yourself.

Search & observability

Use OpenSearch for real-time search, log analytics and monitoring, helping teams investigate application, security and operational data as events happen.

Data engineering & pipelines

Build automated pipelines with Glue, EMR and Kinesis, moving and transforming data reliably while catching quality issues before they reach reporting or applications.

Generative AI & machine learning

Use Bedrock and SageMaker for RAG, foundation-model applications and custom ML, grounded in governed AWS data and supported through production MLOps.

BI & reporting

Deliver fast, governed reporting through QuickSight and existing BI tools, connected directly to Redshift for reliable performance under real business demand.

Managed operations

Provide 24/7 monitoring, cost governance, performance tuning and incident response across your AWS data estate, reducing disruption and unnecessary infrastructure spend.

EXPLORE OUR SERVICES

Choose the service that fits your goals

From managed operations to AI, our services help you get more value from AWS across data, reporting, automation and AI workloads.

AWS MIGRATION PATHS

Move to AWS from your current platform

An AWS migration does not need to disrupt critical applications or reporting. We assess dependencies, select the right AWS services and move priority workloads through controlled phases.

Legacy data warehouse to Amazon Redshift

Move beyond ageing appliances, fixed capacity and licensing overheads to Redshift, creating a scalable analytics platform for governed reporting and growing data volumes.

Oracle / SQL Server to Amazon Aurora

Move relational workloads to Aurora while retaining MySQL or PostgreSQL compatibility, gaining managed availability, cloud-scale performance and reduced infrastructure overhead through a controlled migration.

MongoDB / NoSQL to Amazon DynamoDB

Move high-throughput NoSQL workloads to DynamoDB, removing the operational burden of managing database clusters while gaining managed scale, resilience and consistently low-latency application performance.

Elasticsearch / Solr to Amazon OpenSearch

Move search, log analytics and observability workloads onto OpenSearch, reducing infrastructure management while retaining the flexible search and monitoring capabilities your technical teams rely on.

HOW WE WORK WITH YOU

A clear path to value

We follow a proven three-stage approach to help you get the most from AWS, from architecture and migration through to ongoing optimisation and support.

01

Assess and design

Assess your architecture, workloads and AI goals against the AWS Well-Architected Framework, then design the right service mix and phased migration plan around value, risk and timeline.

02

Build and migrate

Build pipelines, configure governance and access controls, then move agreed workloads through controlled cutovers designed to protect applications, reporting and business operations.

03

Optimise and run

Right-size AWS services, tune performance and control spend, then establish monitoring and operational controls with 24/7 support and continuous improvement available through Ardent.

AWS FAQS

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the workload. Redshift is designed for analytical workloads, governed reporting and querying large volumes of structured data. Aurora is a relational database suited to transactional applications that need MySQL or PostgreSQL compatibility, while DynamoDB is a NoSQL service designed for very high-throughput, low-latency access at scale. Most organisations use more than one. AWS increasingly supports direct integrations between services, including zero-ETL patterns that allow data from services such as Aurora or DynamoDB to flow into Redshift without maintaining a traditional pipeline for every movement of data.

OpenSearch is designed primarily for search and observability rather than transactional storage. Typical uses include full-text search, application and security logs, event analytics and real-time operational monitoring. It normally sits alongside databases such as Aurora or DynamoDB. Operational data can be fed into OpenSearch so technical teams can search, investigate and monitor what is happening without using the transactional database itself as the search layer. We treat AWS cost governance as an ongoing engineering discipline rather than something addressed only during migration. That includes right-sizing Redshift compute, reviewing Aurora and DynamoDB capacity, monitoring consumption patterns and identifying resources or configurations that are creating unnecessary spend. Our managed services team can continue this after go-live, combining cost monitoring with performance tuning so savings are not achieved by simply reducing the capacity users actually need.

Amazon Bedrock provides managed access to foundation models and is well suited to applications such as RAG and generative AI where teams want to build against existing models without managing the underlying model infrastructure. SageMaker provides more control over the wider machine-learning lifecycle, including building, training, deploying and operating custom models. Some AI programmes use both: Bedrock for foundation-model applications and SageMaker where bespoke machine learning or greater model control is required.

Yes. Ardent can assess, design, build and migrate AWS data environments, then provide ongoing monitoring, cost governance, performance optimisation and incident response. Our managed services team can take responsibility for the operational layer after launch, allowing internal engineers to focus on new products, data workloads and AI use cases rather than day-to-day infrastructure management.
